A new student organization, emerging from the anti-discrimination student movement, will be launched tomorrow under the leadership of some of the coordinators from the movement. Multiple founders of the organization confirmed this information to the media on Saturday (22nd February) evening.
The leadership and final preparations for the organization have already been completed. The announcement regarding the organization's leadership positions is in its final stages. The drafting of the organization's declaration has also been completed. Similar to the anti-discrimination student movement, the new organization will have four key positions: Convenor, Member Secretary, Spokesperson, and Chief Organizer.
Regarding the leadership of the new organization, one of the founders, Sakib Ahmed, stated, "Coordinator Abu Bakar Majumdar may assume the position of central convenor, and Abdul Kader, a coordinator from Dhaka University, may take on the role of convenor at Dhaka University."
Jahid Ahsan, the office secretary of the anti-discrimination movement, is likely to be appointed as the central committee's member secretary, while Mahir Alam, a student from the Department of Mathematics at Dhaka University, may serve as the member secretary at Dhaka University.
Ashrefa Khatun, a student of the Department of International Relations at Dhaka University, could be the central committee spokesperson, and Rafia Rehnuma Hridi, a student from the 2019-20 batch at Dhaka University, may assume the spokesperson role for the university.
The position of Chief Organizer for the central committee may go to Dhaka University student Al Amin Sorkar, while Hasib Al Islam, a student from the Department of Sociology, could be the Chief Organizer at Dhaka University.
Earlier, on 17th February of this month, Abu Bakar Majumdar, the former coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, had announced the formation of the new student organization during a press conference held at Dhaka University's Madhur Cantine.
